Candied Pomelo Rind.

Candied pomelo rind – a unique and easy citrus candy. This is a simple, fool proof recipe for sweet and tangy candied pomelo (it is perfect for other citrus fruits as well).

 
 Ingredients
  • 1 pomelo
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
Instructions:
  1. Use a paring knife to make four slices along the top of the pomelo rind to the bottom. Peel pomelo saving the fruit for a different purpose such as our .
  2. Carefully remove all of the white pith from the green peel. The pith is quite bitter so you want to remove as much as you can. Discard the pith.
  3. Slice the pomelo rind into 6mm x 8cm sticks.
  4. Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Place pomelo rind in the pot and blanch for one minute. Discard the water and rinse rind under cool water. Repeat this process three times. This will help to remove a lot of the rinds bitterness.
  5. Place two cups of water and two cups of sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil to dissolve the sugar.
  6. Add pomelo rind to the sugar water and simmer for 1-1 ½ hours, until the liquid has been absorbed and the rinds are translucent.
  7. Carefully move the rinds to a rack and sprinkle with sugar. Let them dry for about 3 hours, turning them halfway through.
  8. Store in a sealed container.

Kandirana kora grejpfruta  – jedinstveni i jednostavan Citrus bombona. Ovo je jednostavan, dokaz i recept za slatko i cvrsta kandirana kora od voca  (savršen recept i  za druge agrumi ).
Sastojci:
1 grejpfrut
2 šolje šećera
2 šolje vode

Priprema:
Koristite ostar nož da bi se četiri kriške isekle duž vrha grejpfruita kore do dna. Kora grejpfruta i čuvanje voće za druge svrhe kao što je naša.
Pažljivo uklonite sve beli srž od zelene kore. Srži je prilično gorkog ukusa, tako da uklonite onoliko koliko možete. Bacite srži,a ta srz kod mandarina sadrzi veoma korisne sastojke za ljudsko zdravlje i ne baca se za razliku od ove gorke.
Secite koru u 6mm k 8cm štapića.
Staviti srednji lonac vode da provri. Postavite grejpfurt koru u lonac i blansirajte jedan minut.Baciti vodu i isprati koru pod hladnom vodom. Ponoviti ovaj postupak tri puta. To će pomoći da uklonite  gorak ukus voca.
Stavite dve šolje vode i dve šolje šećera u srednju šerpu. Dovesti do ključanja da se otopi šećer.
Dodaj koru od grepfruit u vodi šećera i kuvajte 1-1 ½ sati, sve dok tečnost ne upije, a kore budu providne.
Pažljivo pomeri kore na policu i pospite šećerom. Neka se suši oko 3 sata, okrećući ih na pola vremena od oko 1,5 sat.
Cuvati u zatvorenu posudu.
